For the past half century, Wall Street executives have enriched themselves on the backs of the working class. Their greed caused the Great Recession of 2008, from which most people still have not recovered. It is far past time for Congress to reign in Wall Street.  We need to make our economy work for the people, not the other way around.

Choose People over Corporate Profits

• Increase corporate taxes, particularly for large corporations

• Hold corporate executives liable for the environmental damage their companies have caused

• Support legislation to increase worker co-determination

Rein in the Greed of the Finance Industry

• Raise capital gains and dividend taxes

• Strengthen Dodd-Frank; reinstate Glass-Steagall

• Implement a Wall Street speculation tax

Democratize our Financial Services

• Support public and community banks

• Implement Postal Banking so that every Post Office offers free or at-cost banking services

• Allow investment funds to prioritize social goals other than shareholder wealth maximization

• Use federal funds to gain equity in key sectors of the economy, such as power, healthcare, and food production to ensure democratic control
